The industrial heart of MacPherson erupted in a series of glorious explosions yesterday, providing a much-needed percussion section to the city’s crushing monotony.

As black smoke billowed from the Pacific Building, witnesses reported that local office workers exhibited the survival instincts of a suicidal lemming.

The SCDF arrived to find discarded items incinerating, while one victim was rushed to hospital for actually noticing the danger.

"I heard the first 'kaboom' and thought maybe got free popcorn," remarked one hungry eyewitness.
