A ten-year-old boy has discovered that "being a hero" is a total scam after his father’s body rejected his stem cells along with the basic concept of living.

Despite the child enduring general anaesthesia and painful injections, the father succumbed to complications, proving that biological loyalty is no match for medical spite.

Pragmatic Singaporeans, who donated thousands to the cause, felt the lack of a happy ending was a poor use of social capital.

"Aiyo, donate so much but the ending so sian," said local resident Auntie Bee.

"Next time can ask for refund or what?"
