In a housing market so tight it makes a Geylang shophouse look like a palace, local renters are now viewing Facebook scams as a premium concierge service.

Desperate Singaporeans, tired of being ghosted by real estate agents who require a credit score of 900 and a letter of recommendation from the afterlife, are flocking to "Property Guru (Legit)" on Meta.

"Wah lau, the scammer very fast reply one, not like real agent who always act lansi," said victim Tan Ah Kow, who recently transferred $5,000 to a profile picture of a golden retriever.

For the price of a life savings, victims receive a high-resolution JPEG of a bedroom in Sweden and the fleeting thrill of a digital connection.

"Even though the room don't exist, the customer service damn power, confirm better than my actual boss," Tan added while refreshing his empty bank account.

Authorities suggest that if a deal looks too good to be true, it’s probably just a normal Tuesday in the world’s most expensive city.
