Sinkie Celebrates Financial Freedom After Fixed Deposit Earns One Siew Mai
Local visionary Lim Teck Huat has officially declared himself a member of the elite "high-net-worth" bracket after his twelve-month fixed deposit finally matured.
After bravely locking away $100,000 in a local bank, Lim was rewarded with a staggering $3,200 interest payment, effectively beating inflation if the year was 1984.
The 45-year-old plans to diversify his massive windfall by purchasing a medium-sized cold brew and perhaps a slightly thicker brand of toilet paper.
"Wah lau, I tell you ah, the 3.2% interest is damn power," Lim shouted while waving a printed bank statement at confused commuters.
"I wait one year only, then now can buy one plate of chicken rice extra plus egg, sibei worth it man!"
Banks have praised Limβs financial discipline, noting that locking liquidity away for actual peanuts is the most patriotic act a citizen can perform.
"Every time interest rate go up 0.1%, my heart go boom boom fast fast," commented self-proclaimed investment guru Ah Hock.
"You put money inside, don't touch, then next year can buy more Cai Fan, very steady lah."
