In a nation where academic validation is the only substitute for a personality, scammers have successfully fleeced Singaporeans of $31,000 by pretending to be angry school staff.

The victims, mostly students and parents with chronic β€œKiasu” syndrome, reportedly panicked after receiving emails from the "litigation department" of various schools demanding immediate payment for nonexistent tuition fees.

Apparently, the threat of legal action from a secondary school is enough to make a grown adult empty their savings account without asking for a single receipt.

β€œAiyo, I thought I forget to pay lab fee leh,” admitted one victim. β€œThen the email say they will sue me, so I fast-fast transfer. Better lose money than lose face, right?”

Police warn that being a "Good Student" doesn't actually require paying criminals.

This satire is based on a real news story.
