Local resident Lim Ah Huat has successfully achieved financial independence at age 31 by adopting the lifestyle of a malnourished Victorian sewer rat.

The former analyst saved 98% of his salary by residing inside a discarded air-con compressor and consuming only moisture licked from MRT tunnel walls.

"Siao eh, why must spend money on luxury? I stay in longkang also can, save more for my dividends mah," Lim explained while gnawing on a piece of damp cardboard.

Lim’s revolutionary FIRE strategy involves bypassing expensive habits like breathing and instead spending sixteen hours a day staring at a blank wall to conserve calories.

"Last time I buy chicken rice I feel very guilty, now I just sniff the steam from the stall, totally free one, damn huat sia," he added.

Financial experts suggest Lim's success proves that any Singaporean can retire early if they simply treat their own body with the contempt usually reserved for a used tissue paper.
