Singapore Hawker Loses Michelin Star After Accidentally Cleaning Kitchen
Singapore’s culinary elite are reeling after a legendary laksa stall was stripped of its Michelin star for the ultimate sin: basic hygiene.
Inspectors were reportedly traumatised to find a kitchen floor that was not lubricated by four decades of rancid coconut milk and floor-grime.
The owner, Uncle Seng, confessed to a momentary lapse in sanity where he used actual detergent on his wok.
“I don't know what happen, my hand itchy go buy the Dettol and scrub everything,” Seng wailed while clutching a charred ladle.
“Now the soup no more kick, no more vintage sweat taste, totally gone case already lah!”
Regulars are boycotting the stall, claiming the lack of food poisoning risk has ruined the authentic dining experience.
“Walao, I come here for the authentic lao sai feel, not for this sterile hospital food,” complained regular customer, Kevin Lim.
The Michelin Guide reminded hawkers that "complexity of flavour" is legally synonymous with "unidentifiable fungus."
