Oxford Adds “Jialat” To Formally Describe Your Failed Love Life
The Oxford English Dictionary has officially validated the linguistic dumpster fire that is Singlish by adding words like “jialat” and “kaypoh” to its hallowed pages.
Linguists at Oxford reportedly concluded that the English language was simply too articulate to describe the unique suffering of living in a 700-square-foot concrete box.
The dictionary now defines “BTO” as a verb, officially acknowledging that proposing in Singapore is less about love and more about strategic asset acquisition.
“Walao, finally those white ghosts recognize my powderful English,” said local resident, Lim Pek Chek, while spitting on a “No Spitting” sign.
“Next time I kena catch for being a kaypoh, I tell mata I just practicing my OED vocabulary, lanjiao,” he added.
The OED hopes these additions will help the world understand why Singaporeans are so fucking stressed.
