Local Man Spends $4,000 On Rod To Catch Toxic Pufferfish
Local sportsperson Lim Ah Huat has dominated the marine ecosystem at Bedok Jetty by landing a three-inch toxic pufferfish after sixteen hours of tactical silence.
Equipped with a Japanese carbon-fibre rod worth more than his soul, Lim sat motionless, surrounded by the stench of rotting prawns and mid-life crises.
The elite predator claimed his victory over the sea was a result of superior strategy rather than sheer, blinding boredom.
"Walao, you see this? Very power one, confirm can eat if you know how to cut, no need go hospital one," Lim boasted.
"My wife say I waste time, but she don't know the thrill of the hunt, even if it's just a plastic bag."
The pufferfish, gasping in a rusty Milo tin, will be discarded behind a bush once Lim realizes he cannot cook it without dying.
