The raise, which is effectively a pay cut when adjusted for the rising price of a single lime juice, has triggered scenes of unbridled euphoria across the CBD.
Economists predict this windfall will allow the average citizen to finally afford the luxury of breathing premium air-conditioned oxygen for three minutes a day.
"Siao eh, my boss so generous, now I can buy one extra fishball per week and still have change for the bus," said junior executive, Tan Bo Lui.
